Virginia has a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of California, Berkeley, has been awarded over 20 grants and honors, she has many publications on subjects ranging from chemical communication to genetics to insect behavior.
|Are your mealworms Non GMO?||Our Mealworms are Non GMO, we do not use any genetic modification, we use a extremely strict natural selection program to produce our optimal worms.
|Are US Mealworms Organic?||Our insects are fed on organic food - which avoids the use of man-made fertilisers & pesticides.
Unfortunately there is not a certification in place for organic insects, once available we will have them certified, but as it stands this is pending.
|Are US Chubby Mealworms better than China Mealworms?||Not only are our US grown mealworms are grown in a sterile 'food grade' facility, (this alone speaks volumes).
They are optimised to be the most nutritious they can be, and are only fed on organic food...
So are they better - Hell Yeh!
|Why are US Mealworms more expansive than China Mealworms?||
Though we are essentially cutting the costs of import - taxes, wages, continuous research & equipment cost more in the US.
Our factory is 'food grade' which costs more to maintain - but the end result is a superior product.
|Why do you not freeze dry your mealworms?||Freeze drying not only costs more, it's more labour intensive for very little benefit. Our research found that there are simply next to no benefits in nutrition to justify the process over microwave drying. see for yourself here|
